What is the best way to fool another magician?

What is the best way to fool another magician?
_____
The absolute easiest way to fool another magician is to do a card trick using marked cards. The second easiest way is to do an effect that relies on a confederate in the audience. And third, performing an illusion using twins.
The fact is that magicians are easily fooled, in some cases more easily than a person who knows nothing about magic.
Many magicians expect that certain rules apply to magic. They don't think it is fair to use a marked deck or a confederate and they don't have the resources to employ twins. So they usually reject methods that don't rely on sleights or gimmicks and are annoyed by those who successfully create illusions using what they consider unconventional means.
This gimmick first, effect second approach to magic is obviously backwards since what the spectators see is more important than how the magician managed to show it to them. What the spectators see and how they react to it is the only thing that matters in a magic show. The methods involved should be simple and reliable rather than clever if the magician's intent is to entertain those watching.
Fooling magicians is just a matter of stepping outside the boundaries magicians have set for how a trick should be done. Many magicians don't actually like magic. They go to a magic show to applaud the props and the cleverness involved and are often put off when something occurs that isn't familiar.
If you plan to be a professional performer, playing the role of some magician or other and creating the illusion of magic for your audiences, it is a good idea to understand why magicians are fooled and why fooling is the least important portion of giving a good magic show.
